SELAH

Students Educated Lovingly At Home

SELAH is a non-denominational support group for Christian homeschooling families in Santa Clara County, California.

We offer encouragement and instruction for parents and children, learning and social activities, service projects and resource information. Membership is open to those educating their children at home. All applicants must meet the requirements for Home School Legal Defense Association (HSLDA) membership and be members of HSLDA if their children are of legal school age. (In response to legal cousel, we regret that we are unable to accept applications from any families belonging to a public school ISP or Public Charter School.)

SELAH is a network of homegroups in the South Bay and South Peninsula region which meet separately in homes in San Jose, Campbell, Santa Clara and Sunnyvale and participate in activities together. Most of our member families come from a wide area including the Santa Cruz mountains, Los Gatos, San Jose, Campbell, Sunnyvale, Cupertino, Santa Clara, Mountain View, and the South Peninsula vicinity. Each homegroup has a different focus and location, which is explained in its description. SELAH also provides large group activities for all its members. Please see the calendar for a list of upcoming activities.

SELAH is not a private school nor an Independent Study Program (ISP) provider.

For Parents of Preschool through Middle school age Children
Parents only, Please no children in audience

A Biblical, age-appropriate approach to sex education. In this workshop parents of elementary and middle school children will learn what to talk about with their kids at every stage of development. This workshop includes information on how to set the paradigm for purity and courtship beginning in preschool. We will also discuss media discernment, how to give "the talk", and how parents can begin now to open up the lines of communication with their children to pave the way for honesty and openness during adolescence.

Julie Hiramine is the Founder and Executive Director of the ministry Generations of Virtue (www.generationsofvirtue.org) that equips parents to empower their children to be pure in our world today.
